Pataricza and Neves Elected as New Members at Summer 2014 Meeting

The Working Group 10.4 on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance (WG10.4) of the International Federation For Information Processing (IFIP) announced today, at it’s Summer meeting, that it has elected Professors Andras Pataricza and Nuno Neves as its two newest members. Pataricza

Pataricza is the founder and leader of the Fault-Tolerant Systems Research Group at Budapest University of Technology and Economics and was the General Chair of the 43rd Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks that was held in Budapest in June of 2013.


Neves is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisboa and is a member of the NavigatorsĀ“s group, where he co-leads the fault and intrusion tolerance research area. His main research interests are in distributed systems, especially in the areas of security and fault-tolerance.

IFIP Working Group 10.4 was established in 1980 with the aim of identifying and integrating approaches, methods and techniques for specifying, designing, building, assessing, validating, operating and maintaining dependable computer systems, that is those that are reliable, available, safe, and secure. Its 75 members from around the world meet twice a year to to conduct in-depth discussions of important technical topics to further the understanding and exposition of the fundamental concepts of dependable computing.
